GSC Faculty Member Anastasia Named Fellow

Granite State College faculty member, Audrey L. Anastasia, DrPH, RD, has been named a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the world's largest organization of food and nutrition professionals. Designation as a Fellow recognizes outstanding professional accomplishments, valuable service to the profession and the public, and a quest for lifelong learning.

Recognition as a Fellow distinguishes those who have made significant and sustained contributions to the field of dietetics with integrity, innovation, and social responsibility.

An accomplished Senior Lecturer at Granite State College over the past 18 years, and Assistant Program Director at the University of New Hampshire Thompson School of Applied Science in Culinary Arts and Nutrition, Anastasia is a past recipient of teaching awards in 2004 and 2009, inspiring hundreds of students toward scientifically-based sound choices. As a mentor, she is professional, ethical, thoughtful, insightful, humorous, engaging, and thorough. Anastasia serves as a Program Reviewer for the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) ensuring the quality of nutrition and dietetics education programs in the US.

As a Medical Nutrition Therapist in private practice, she fully engages her education and experience, including her Master's degrees in Counseling and Nutrition Communication, in addition to her Doctorate in Public Health. Anastasia is a very active and sought after speaker, having presented 175 seminars to corporations and law firms throughout New England over the past five years. The energy, intellect, and humor she brings on a wide range of topics in the field engages audiences of all ages, motivating them to new learning and better understanding. She has published as a primary author, as well as secondary author in the peer-reviewed publication, Nutrition Today. She is currently Chairperson of the NH Board of Licensed Dietitians.
