Granite State College to Live-Tweet Commencement

Concord, NH — For the first time ever, Granite State College will be live-tweeting Commencement activities. This new method of chronicling the day's events will allow families, fellow students, faculty, and staff to extend well-wishes to the 242 graduates who will participate in this year's ceremony at the Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion in Gilford, NH on June 10th.

Live-tweeting is the practice of using the social media service Twitter to describe simultaneously occurring events. It has been used successfully for coverage of high-profile media events throughout the world, and it encourages participation by large crowds in venues that would otherwise be limited. By incorporating this new medium for Commencement, the College remains on the forefront of its mission of making the experience of higher education accessible to all.

The Live-Tweets will start at 10:30 AM on June 10th, and will last until the conclusion of the ceremony. Anyone can participate in the conversation by sending well-wishes to @GraniteStateCol with the hashtag #GSC2012.
