Portsmouth, NH – On Wednesday, May 23rd, Granite State College will be joining with the Pease Greeters to give a warm send-off to troops leaving overseas. The Pease Greeters are an all-volunteer group that provides a formal welcoming ceremony to troops passing through Pease International Airport on their way to, or from, military service in areas of conflict throughout the world.
A contingent of Granite State College’s faculty, staff, and students will be participating in the ceremony, and all members of the GSC Community are invited to attend. The welcoming party will meet at 4:30 PM at the College’s Portsmouth Campus to travel to the airport on International Drive. Attendees are encouraged to wear GSC Colors or Spirit Wear and to bring signage to wish the troops well.
Immediately following the ceremony, Granite State College will host a reception at the Portsmouth Campus honoring the College’s military students in observation of the Memorial Day holiday.
Please contact Sherilee Poisson, Army (ret.), Granite State College Military Representative, or Bette Papa, Academic Coach at the Portsmouth Campus, for more information.
